Congressman Connolly's 16th Annual St. Patrick's Day Fete

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONNOLLY’S ANNUAL ST. PATRICK’S DAY FETE SET FOR WEDNESDAY NIGHT IN FAIRFAX
Major Democratic Gathering Marks Kickoff of Congressman’s Reelection Campaign
FAIRFAX ‐ Congressman Gerry Connolly will hold his 16th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Fete on Wednesday, March 17, at the Kena Temple, 9001 Arlington Blvd, in Fairfax. The event begins at 7 pm.
Congressman Connolly’s St. Patrick’s Day fete is the largest annual Democratic gathering in Northern Virginia. This year’s event will mark the kickoff of Connolly’s campaign for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives from Virginia’s 11th Congressional District.
The annual St. Patrick’s Day event started as a small gathering in Connolly’s home. Soon tents had to be erected behind the Connolly home to accommodate larger crowds. It soon outgrew that venue too, and since then it has been held at the Kena Temple in the heart of Connolly’s district.
Each year, hundreds of Connolly’s guests enjoy traditional Irish fare of corned beef and cabbage along with the appropriate victuals, Irish music, and good company. Elected officials, campaign volunteers, neighbors, friends, and political activists and supporters from across Northern Virginia are regulars at the event.
